Golden Irish Yew (akaTaxus baccata 'Fastigiata Aureomarginata' )

Have today planted a Golden Irish Yew in garden, which I wanted as it doesn't take up too much space in a narrow border between lawn and fence.  Most places I research say it is 'slow growing' but not sure what that means in terms of how much height it puts on each year.  How fast is 'slow growing'.  I did read that it can reach 5m in 20 years, so simple maths of 5m/20 years = 25cm a year.  Not that slow growing then!!

    I think it speeds up as the years pass. It's slow compared with the average shrub you see in the GCs. It's raining or I'd go and measure last year's growth :)

    25-30 cms per year is average for an established Yew tree/hedge/shrub .
    Not as slow-growing as some people think .
    A very nice choice of conifer ; you'll probably find it fades to normal green as the season progresses ;(if it ever gets here that is)!!
