What's happened to my rhubarb?

Can anyone tell me what has happened to my rhubarb? What should i do and will it affect the
Plant?

    It's flowering.  Pull the flower stalk out by grasping it at the base and twisting and pulling.  Allowing it to flower will stop it producing leaves.  

    It might be a sign that your rhubarb is hungry or thirsty (although the latter seems unlikely today  :o)  

    I would feed it with Fish, Blood and Bone, and mulch it well with rotted manure or home made garden compost, don't pick much this year and make sure it doesn't get dry in any dry spells we (hopefully) will get.  

    Never pull more than one third of the stalks available at a time, and stop pulling at the end of June.

    They're flowering stalks, just pull them off as soon as you see them.
