pruned a rasberry the wrong way

Before I found out otherwise I pruned my rasberry bush right back to the earth not realising that I should have left healthy canes.  It is now just a mass of new leaves.  Should I just leave it to grow or should I be pinching out some of the leaves?

What variety of raspberries?  Summer fruiting or fall?
    Utah, USA.

I'd leave them to do their thing. If they are summer ones, they won't fruit this year, so leave the canes for next year fruiting. If they're autumn ones you will get fruit later this year. What I do with autumn ones is that I leave a couple of healthy canes anyway, when pruning, as these will flower earlier next year than new canes so I get a bit of fruit earlier.

Leave it. If they are summer fruiting you won't get fruit this year, but if you leave the canes alone, you will have fruit next year. If they are autumn fruiting, you will get fruit in September, then in December or January, cut to the ground.

They are summer fruiting so will just leave them.  Thanks for your replies
