Can anyone tell me whether this is normal or whether my Acer has some sort of disease or pests affecting it? The leaves have been out about a week! Thanks all.
Where do you have it? If it's in a draughty or cold spot that may cause the leaves to curl up in horror. They're very susceptible to cold and/or drying winds.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

@Obelixx thanks for responding. I have it out the front of my house, so sheltered from one direction by a wall and partly sheltered by another plant. Could possibly be cold though as it only really gets direct sun first thing in the morning. If the leaves would normally open out soon after growing, then maybe I should consider moving it.
I have several in pots and keep them in full sun but sheltered from strong winds until late April to mid May depending on the season. During the recent hot spell I noticed one or two leaves curling up so moved them to the north facing terrace which gives them shelter form direct sun as well as strong seasonal westerly and drying easterly winds. They look much happier.
Worth trying as they do have very fine foliage with no wax coating to protect them. In their native habitat they are woodland glade plants so dappled sun and no strong winds..

Definitely not doing well! Any more thoughts on what I can do? Assume this is pests/disease (there are small dark patches on the leaves which are turning into holes), but possible made more susceptible due to less than ideal location...
