  • I'm on the south cost and after last weeks heat they have started to appear, my first year of growing them. I just hope the next week of wet weather doesn't cause too much damage x

I’ve just got the planting baskets delivered so will dig some ground at the weekend and get mine in.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • My newly planted gladioli corms have not shown through yet - I would be surprised if they had.

Our Gladioli Byzantinus, which are in the ground, have the flowerheads starting to appear but probably another 1-2 weeks before they will open.
  • Hi mine have also stated showing in pots, they did flower last year, is it true they will not flower in the second year?

@kathmay I planted gladioli out in the garden 4 years ago and they've come every year so far. .....fingers crossed they'll appear again this year
  • Great, thanks, I shall keep my fingers crossed

Put some in a pot a month ago .... think they must have turned round and gone down to the bottom. But I can see a root poking out of the bottom of the pot - so am still hoping.

Hi mine that are in the ground are about five inches through now, I dont lift them at winter but I have a sheltered walled garden in Suffolk.
