Asparagus Crowns

Nigel103Nigel103 Posts: 43
I have just received 15 Asparagus crowns but won't be able to plant them for about a week.

Would it be best to -

a) Leave them in the plastic packaging until ready for planting

b) Plant into separate pots temporarily

c) Heel into ground temporarily

Thanks

Nigel

This is a tricky one as they supposedly hate disturbance, normally I would say heel in temporarily but maybe not in this case, if you have pots big enough to hold them maybe go for that. Interested to know what others think.

I would also heel them in as they won't start growing in a week and they need to be kept damp. I didn't do this last year and they died on me.
