Pluot / Plumcot
in Fruit & veg
Planted a Pluot 5 or 6 years ago to replace a cordon pear which snapped when the fence it was growing against fell over. The Pluot is at the end of the row of six 45 degree cordon apples. The nearby neighbour's oak tree sucks alot of the moisure from the soil which I can counteract with a leaky pipe. Shade can be a problem despite us removing as many over hanging branches as we can.
Anyway, this is the first year I've seen any significant flowers. Weather has been good whist flowers were out and plenty of polinators flying so fingers crossed we may get out first fruit.
