    Hello,again,

I asked for help in identifying the above plant.  Today I noticed it had grown a small yellow flower.

Hopefully this makes it a bit more identifiable.  Anyone got any ideas?  Many thanks in advance as always.

the leaves in the first pic look like Nipplewort or similar weed plant and the leaves look smoother than those in the second photo. the first also has flower buds forming at the top of the stems, the second looks different, flowers peeping from among the leaves. are you sure you haven't got 2 plants there

Hi  Nutcutlet, I have just had a look and all the leaves are originating from one thick stem.  Can't see any evidence of separate plant.  It is a mass of leaves very close to the ground.  Do you think it is a weed then?

if you had just showed me the first pic I would have said Nipplewort, weed. I might have to go out and find some in the garden, the leaves may have a rougher texture than I remember

Would appreciate any help with naming this shrub as well please. Just come out in flower, does have a thawny branch - height around 6 foot?
