Any idea what this is? It's springing up all over my garden since I mulched with compost that included manure from my local farmer. Reckon the manure must have been full of undigested seeds :( Apologies if it takes ages to load - if anyone can tell me how to reduce the size of photos before trying to upload them I'd be grateful!

What platform are you using to post? Windoze? IPad? Mac? Android? Windows Paint can shrink files if you are using Windows. And there are presumably similar apps on the other platforms.

Being a bit of a technophobe I'm probably going about it all wrong. I don't seem to be able to access files on my Android phone by plugging it in via USB - the phone folder is always showing as empty - so what I currently do is upload to Google Drive, then download onto my laptop! Clunky I know: there must be an easier way. Thanks for the tip re Paint, I'll have a look at that.

Have you got Paint? I select the whole picture, click "Resize", adjust to, say, 25%, and then "Cut".

Thanks - that helps with the photos... now has anyone got an idea what this plant is? I'm out there now and as it's all over the garden it would be great to know if I can just yank it up, or whether I have to be meticulous in getting all the roots out (which is what I'm currently doing, just in case).

It's not that Dove, but thanks for trying! I don't think the first photo I posted is very helpful, I'll take some more in a bit and try to get them in focus!

Ttc, make sure you have put your PIN, fingerprint or whatever into your phone as many (all?) only allow access to your files that way.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

It looks a bit like Houttanya cordata (sorry if I've spelt it wrong).  I hope it's not.  If you crush the leaves it gives off a right old pong if that helps id it.

I think we have that along the sides of a ditch - is it a bit of a runner then?
