Sorry; let me try again ... Anyone know what this is?

It was brought to our local gardeners’ club in Cyprus; someone had given a member a few of these. I took the photo with the plastic cup so you can see the size of it. Is it a bush, a tree or a climber? It feels a bit like a firm tomato. Apparently, there are black seeds inside which we intend to germinate and report back on ... In the photo it is upside down, and must hang very prettily when in its natural state.

    Goodness me!  Aren't there just ... where's the <blushing smiley> when you want one?
