Yet another shrub for ID please

One of the problems with a "new" garden - lots of things I don't yet know :smile: But, could this be a Chaenomeles?

    Yes it could. And i can see some flower buds too😀.
    Mine looks to be at a very similar stage, though on a much smaller scale.

    You should just be able to see the buds on this pic I've just snapped.  The little round balls, close to the main stem/branch.
