Asparagus

I am thinking about planting asparagus crowns but I most likely will not be able to do so before the beginning of May. Is it too late?

    I think you'll have to leave it until next year now :(

    Thanks for your response. Would I be able to plant them in autumn or is this something that you would not recommend? Thanks again!

    You'd better wait for a response from someone more qualified than I - I planted my very first 20 asparagus crowns in such carefully prepared soil last year. So far only one tiny, spindly spear has come up. I think the horrid long, wet Devon winter has killed all the others :(
