Plant Identification

Okay so I'm hoping there will be a picture attached and I couldn't find a section where to ask this question so thought here would be best.

I was after, if at all possible, the name of the plant I have added to this post. I really like this plant as it adds a great dense barrier all year round and would like to plant more or even take cuttings from. My plant knowledge and Latin is useless but I was hoping an avid gardener could help me out on this one.

Many thanks in advance.

Laurel, Prunus laurocerasus, probably one of the cultivars

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • @nutcutlet Many thanks! I've just googled the name you gave and it came up with ...

    Prunus laurocerasus 'Otto Luyken'

    Cherry laurel

...Which does look exactly like the one in the picture! Now I will go to YouTube and find out how to make cuttings  :p Thank you greatly.

If you look under and around the existing hedge you might find babies that you can lift and pot on. We had dozens near our old laurel hedge. In fact I gave away about thirty a couple of months back as we don't want to use them as a hedge in our new garden (sheep the other side).
  • @DampGardenMan funny you mention that because I was just clearing out the area yesterday and noticed it had spread.

One of its roots has moved its way under some membrane, found a gap and sprouted about 3 meters away from the main bush!!
