Rogue Asparagus!

    You can support it if you want but in general treat it like you would a flowering bulb let it do its own thing and die down at the end of the season naturally. When the top has gone brown then you can cut it off & mulch over  the top. Then wait eagerly for next year & see if you get more!

    Asparagus hate being moved, so leave it where it is. If you live near the ocean, they do love seaweed, just place it around the plant.

    Usually some support of the fern is recommended as the theory is that wind rock may affect the roots adversely. I usually just use a cane

    **update**

    Another asparagus spear has appeared in the same spot.

    And something else that looks like its full of seeds - is this also asparagus?

    Crikey no, don't eat those green berries.   That plant goes by many common names:. Wild arum, cuckoo pint, lords and ladies, Jack in the pulpit.  Someone will doubtless tell you its botanical name, but whatever you call it, it's toxic.
