Last year was the first time I grew passionflower and it few well. In the autumn I followed the recommendations of cutting it down to a couple of feet and storing it away over winter. I've now brought it back out but no signs of new life? When should these syart showing new growth?

Which passion flower is it? The regular Caerula? Also wondering what location you are. It should be fine outside in the south and east. Maybe even more northerly. I had one in an area that got really cold, down to minus 20 even. I never cut it down until april when theres hood strong new growth showing.

No signs of mine yet, it’s always later than the Clematis it’s mates with.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • I grew Caerulea for many years on the south-facing wall of my house in Liverpool and it was perfectly happy, surviving very cold winters with no protection, so no need to molly-coddle it.
