Potted garden lilies

Wheelie1Wheelie1 Posts: 10
A couple of years ago i planted some garden lilies, Bright joy and Fancy joy, after the flowers and stalks died off i removed them and left them in the pots for the following year. Last year they increased in numbers and this year one of the pots is filled with new lillies. Can anyone give me some advice on what I should do with them. Should I leave them to grow as is or thin them out/transplant. Needless to say I am an amature gardener and any advice would be appreciated

You are possibly a bit too late now to tip them out and break them up into seperate bulbs for planting as it will probably damage the growing stems. But certainly after they have flowered this year I would divide that pot up quite radically. Obviously happy lilies though!

Give them a good feed and enjoy the blooms  :) next year just divide them up earlier.
