I can see a few of them near the surface (seeds that is, not sprouts) and they don't seem to be doing anything. I've been watering and we've had quite a lot of sun too... I'll give them the weekend.
Sometimes. I had given up on a load of sweet peas, having waited two months. I put them out under my shed to later compost. I saw yesterday they have just started to shoot. They were old seeds. A nice surprise. Some umbellifers take over a year. I don't suppose the nasturtiums will take that long, but it might take a while to make good strong plants that will then flower. That's what I meant.
Sorry Fire.. I was just teasing.. and making a bit of a joke against myself. Not only am I a lazy gardener.. I am also impatient. I suppose that is the wonderful thing about gardening.. it forces one to s-l-o-w down and find the rhythm of the seasons and the years.
I would second the suggestion of nansturtium seeds. They self seed and will come back each year for you. Very easy to grow.
If you are worried about slugs. Try alchemilla mollis. They will cover that area no problem. Not very colourful but you can break it up. With alliums, fox glove, red star cordilines, palace purple. Slugs wot touch any of that.
