Advice on what to do with some Tulip bulbs that I haven't planted

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I was posting on here for a number of reasons.

Need some advice on storing Tulip bulbs at the moment. Last year I bought a couple of packs of mixed Tulip bulbs from Thompson Morgan & Woolmans for planting into pots for some spring colour this year, However I didn't get the chance to plant them as money had to be spent elsewhere I wasn't able to purchase any clay pots or compost to get them sorted. Also I'm now recovering from a heart attack so nearly everything in the garden has ground to a halt.

I have the bulbs still stored in the packaging they came in, cardboard boxes that are closed to keep out the light and they are stored in a fairly cool part of an outbuilding. Some look like they have started shooting but only just. Is it best to keep them where they are for now?

If any shoots do get big is it best to cut those off when I come to plant them out later this year?

If the bulbs are still firm, they can be planted now. Even if it is just a hole and cover with some soil. If you leave them, they will just dry out and/or go mouldy and shrivel away. They will not save for another season.  Don't cut the shoots off, they are the flowers.  Get well soon. A little potter in the garden(ten minutes at a time) each day will aid your recovery.
