Moving an olive tree

susananwmssusananwms Posts: 213
I have a small olive tree approx 4ft high.  Had it 2 years and is growing slowly but realised I have not planted it in best place for sun.  It is reaching upwards trying to get sun from behind bush to side of it.  Is it ok to do now at this time of year and are there any special requirements other than the special soil?

You can move it now. Just make sure the soil is free draining. If not, prepare it properly by digging over the area and adding in grit or more compost to create a free draining consistency. They don't really need feeding. Water in well to trap away any air pockets in the soil. Water it again if no rain forecast for over 8-9 days to help it settle in as the weather gets warmer and drier.
