What is this climber?

FireFire Posts: 19,096
I have a climber (no photos) with small red (maybe white flecked) flowers. The leaves are small, mid-green and slightly waxy. The stems have a kind of latex-type sap that sticks to the hands (so it's a pain to prune). Once the flowers are over, it grows like crazy, turning triffidy - with snake-like tendrils shooting all over the place. Mine hasn't started even showing the smallest leaf yet, and I wonder if it has succumbed. Does the description ring any bells. I can find it on any net search.

With a photo one of the experienced plantspeople on here could ID it for you right away,
I am sure! Only thing that springs to mind is pistacia lentiscus, or mastic, I think it does have reddish flowers, or maybe berries,  it’s leaves are small and glossy and the reddish stems are sticky. I know it as an unruly wild shrub tho, not a climber...
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Thanks Nollie. My plant is almost like an Trachelospermum jasminoides but with red flowers and latex sap.

There is a Jasmine that is a total PITA . It wraps around everything, but it is more pink than red.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Thanks B3. Close but no cigar. I love 'PITA'. New to me. I will be stealing that.

Thanks Nollie. No worries. If it isn't dead it will flower in summer and I can post pics. If it is dead, then I guess it doesn't matter so much. Thanks to all who gave a try.
