Primula denticulata Bad heads

Some of my denticulata have not made their flower heads this year.
Just wondered if there is any disease they get that causes it of is it just the poor spring weather? The white one seems ok, they have been in the same place. Others in the ground not pots a similar mix, some ok some not made their balls. It seems they make the individual flower but it withers before opening properly. Of course when in doubt blame slugs, especially this year.



Some are fine.

    Are you sure they haven’t been too dry? Don’t worry, you can’t kill them, just snip off the dead heads, some more will grow. It’s not a problem you should be worried about.🙂

    I agree Lyn ... that does look like a drought problem.  

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Most unlikely this year, drowned more likely, lol.
    But I knew they liked the wet.
    I will try cutting them off. I waited hoping they would pick up but they are past that possibility for those heads.

    If they grow on anything like mine you will be putting them on the compost heap, every year they seem to get more and more, I have an annual cull and still send loads out to friends, or anyone who wants them.
