The fish pond is starting to look nice again and "big boy" the fish with nine lives still survives. Our neighbour has been popping various livestock in the pond due to her garden being revamped, a newt the other day. The frogspawn has developed well and still hidden in the flowers. Watched crazy squirrel nearly go headfirst into the pond drinking from it, a small Jack Russell terrier whilst out walking with his owner often shoots into the garden and has a crafty drink, we can spend soooo much time watching from our kitchen window. The wildlife pond in the back garden is a heaving mass of tadpoles and newts.
I would love to be able to lie on my tummy to watch my pond, however, getting down there and even more importantly, getting back up again is an almost unsurmountable feat for my bionic joints!
I am like a beached whale if I end up on the floor.
We had frog spawn on Feb 1st but "the Beast" froze the lot. Yesterday I saw a newt, then another, then another pair, then another pair. They all seemed very happy in there so, frogs' loss is newts' gain?
Oh how I know about getting up after kneeling Joyce Goldenlily, I eventually bought one of those kneelers with the handles that you can also use as a seat after exhausting every muscle ( the ones that actually still work) Thursday as the TV man was coming I felt the need to exhume some of the fluff and dust that had collected under the tv unit. A job that required me with my static duster ( the only static around turned out to be my temper) to lay sandwiched between couch, hearth and tv unit, after retrieving enough fluff to stuff a pillow I then made several attempts to get up. I called shouted, moaned for TOH who was flitting around somewhere(I really believe now he needs a hearing aid) 10-15 minutes later he saunters in asks if I got it all?? Yes I am up and I don't know if TV man was impressed or not with my dust free wires.
