Dwarf fruit tree

Hi l am thinking of replanting my dwarf fruit tree from its pot directly into the garden, I'm worried it won't stay small by doing this, has anyone done this already, if so how did it go?

If it has a dwarfing rootstock, it should stay small.  What sort of fruit is it? Do you know what the rootstock is?

Mine is almost 2 years in the garden and seems to be staying true to form. Its al about the rootstock its grafted onto.

Hi fidget bones thank you for your input, after your question l went to check and found the information card that came with the tree which states that it will stay dwarf not getting bigger than 2m by 2m, oh and in answer to one of your questions, it's a cherry tree. Thank you.
