What would you call it?

I was nibbling bits off my 'lawn' to increase the flower beds  - as you do, when it occurred to me that there is minimal grass on it. It is mostly flat - growing weeds. This is fine by me as they stay green when the grass shrivels in the summer.
So, what do I call it? It's certainly not a lawn :/

    A yard, to me, is a patch of concrete where you keep your dustbin and a rusty bike. I think it means something else in America :)

    Can't I call it a lawn? It's the closest I'm ever likely to get to having one.

    A yard, translated into British, could mean either your entire garden or, usually, just the grass part.  (Or in my case, the bindweed/crabgrass area that has some soft patches of nicer grass in the shady parts).
