Unfortunately slugs don’t have too many predators, I’ve never seen any birds eat them, I collected them  up once and put on the bird table, they were untouched.
I’ve had a pond for a few year, covered in spawn, loads of frogs, millions of slugs🤢🤮

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I'm  afraid Philippa is right. If you really have a slug problem frogs won't be able to make much difference. I collect between 200 and 400 most nights during the season. How many frogs would I need to eat that lot?

I just don’t grow anything that “attracts” slugs and snails.  It’s a shame because it rules out a lot of my favourites.

I recently planted a few white Salvia nemorosa, thinking slugs wouldn't touch it - decimated in one night :( I have now surrounded the plants with a thick ring of coffee grounds (worth a try?) and sprinkled a very few of the Sluggo pellets around - they are supposed to be 'wildlife friendly' - I hope they are.

Hmm. It rules out almost everything. If you DO have the Spanish variety, the traditional lists of slug resistant plants just doesn't apply.

I feed 'em, I'm not buying them their ruddy drink as well ...

I her hedgehogs and ducks are good for slug control. Not really options for me.
