Noob onion mistake?

hi, this is my first year with veg gardening and in my excitement last year I bought ‘shakespere’ Onion sets which I planted in Feb even though I think they are winter sets?
now I know better after researching, I’ve planted them anyway as they have nice roots and small growth.

each shoot is about 5-7cm with same in roots. Is this enough growth for the year so far and should I continue or wait until next year?

sorry for the stupid question, I wish I knew someone near me who would show me an allotment and how they do it 😂

For @Holly3. Anyone on the forum "know their onions"?

Yes it is enough growth so far. . . they'll be fine. Mine this time last year were done from seed and were smaller and I still got a good crop in time.
