We had left all the bulbs and the plants to come up year after year ,the borders would not have been bare.all my surplus seed i took a hope and prayer and scattered them hoping theyed germinate too . So they didn't do too bad .! But your right in one thing Freddies Dad .our beautiful lawn was replaced by a concrete and council type slabs for their three cars and caravan.
I shall be going back to Belgium for a couple of weeks in July but I won't be going anywhere near my old garden. My gardening helper/friend passes it every Tuesday and says it's sad enough to make her weep cos they don't know how to care for all my treasures........

Hear, hear Freddies Dad. A week after the house next door was sold, the new owners told us they weren't gardeners. Their diggers moved in and the front and back gardens (lovingly tended over 13 years) were completely demolished - over 400 tons of stuff went out (garden was on a slope). It was very sad to see.
When we were looking for property we saw a few concrete gardens full of vehicles. Ruled them out straight away. No garden - not buying. I think our buyers are country folk so hopefully my garden won’t be destroyed.
Our buyers are French and like to be outdoors with their kids and chucks and goose but it seems they don't know one end of a rose from the other and ditto all my lovely clems and shrubs and perennials....
