Step over pear/apple trees too late to plant? Suppliers?

I'm planning on planting step over pear trees and/or apple trees around the periphery of my veggie patch in the Victorian style (see Sizergh House gardens).

Is it too late to plant fruit trees at this time of year? I'm guessing too late for bare root but potted could be ok?  My apple trees have only in the last day or two just started to break out of bud.

And recomendatios on suppliers, the bare root suppliers have stopped until 18/19 but I'm struggling to find many potted ready trained trees.

Pomona still have potted trees but they are Y shaped and require full training.

Any other suppliers anyone can recomend, or garden centres in the Midlands?

Cheers

Yes pot grown will be OK more or less any time - you just won't get fruit this year, probably. Are you anywhere near Batsford Arboretum? I've not looked there for step-overs specifically but they do have a good range of trees generally and it's a nice day out, (and GW magazine 2 for 1 entry is usually valid there)

I got mine from Blackmoore nurseries. Top quality, was packaged very well and came highly recommended. Just saw, they do have some step overs as well as bare-root. See here for e.g. http://www.blackmoor.co.uk/m/category/626/products/329

Thanks for the links, I'll contact them and see if they are supplied as ready trained or ready to train.
