I wish I COULD stand on dandilions, we have a border out the front with that victorian edging stuff down the middle, my half at the moment has daffs, spring bulbs, later cape daisies, rockery plants. neighbours side is a mass of dandilions, (I whipped th heads off a load this morning!) Inspite of some snow and hard temperatures this last winter the blasted things have been growing all the time, and yes invading our paving as well. Nothing against ildflowers, last year we finally removed ll the grass from our little orchard, hired a turf cutter and laid wildflower turf just leaving a grass path through it.
Not a fan. Don't like the colour at all. Have plenty of much prettier flowers in the garden at dandelion time. Majority of my plants are chosen with wildlife in mind so the bees don't miss them. Anyway next door have plenty unfortunately ☹️
Not keen on that yellow either - tho not as bad as Laburnum or forsythia. They get shaved when we cut the grass or dug out when they appear in borders and veggie plot. That still leaves loads in the wild parts we haven't got to yet as well as all the banks along the lanes.

I had a feeling this would be controversial! Never mind, it hasn't come to strimmers at dawn. It seems some of us just don't like bright yellow. I not only love forsythia and laburnum, I love celandines, I know, I know, but they're so glossy and shining. And don't get me started on Primula vulgaris! I find something coyly erotic in that demure, understated shade of yellow. I'm trying to lower the pH in a patch of my garden so I can grow an Azalea luteum.
Love yellow. Cheery and happy. Painted my house various shades of it from one end to the other! No dandelion yellow mind you... I watched a bumbley land on a dandelion yesterday and a while later the dog came tearing past and bit the head off it (flower, not bee!!!). I forgot she did that! She charges round the garden and eats them. I've even seen her try to steal one from the guinea pig. Ha! She'd be lucky!
We've no chance of defeating the dandelions here. There's an army of them out front on the council owned patch of green, just waiting to blow their seed our way every summer 😆.
I dig them out of the flowerbeds, scratch them out the cracks in the driveway and deadhead them in the backgarden grass (weedy lawn).
I like yellow josusa, brings a bit of cheer in early spring. My inherited forsythia grows like a wonky standard, a single thick gnarly trunk topped by a mass of yellow blooms 😀. Every year i think about chopping it down, but my neighbour said that it's older than me and i can't bring myself to do it.
