Is there anything more satisfying than a freshly dug veggie patch?

Finally have had 1.5 days when it didn't rain! Incredible scenes! Actually managed to get out weed and turnover the newly expanded (I stole another metre up to the garden path) veggie patch, is there anything more satisfying than having it all looking fresh and ready for this seasons planting? (Note) the extra overgrown but to the left is a wild flower bee and butterfly meadow and it's meant to look like weeds, honest).

I have asparagus crowns in damp compost just waiting to go in and the root crops (beetroot, parsnip, turnip, swede and leeks), beans (French and runners which are about 6" tall in the space of a week...) and sweetcorn are all growing furiously on the window sill until the greenhouse arrives. It's all to now!

I'm lucky with the soil, this was all farm land until about 1920/30 when the house was built, so ive got 600-800mm of fairly rich dark slightly sandy soil overlying red weathered sandstone so it drains pretty well.

I dug in a load of horse fertiliser last year that's rotted down really well. My compost bin is still a bit new but hopefully I'll have some to dig in next spring with any luck.

The fence by the way was a condition of my having a veggie patch so it didn't just "look like a hole in the lawn" and had to be painted to match the fence. Which in turn has meant all the planters on the patio have had to be painted to match too...

(Please ignore the multitude of the flowerpots, I've just dismantled two sheds so everything is still finding new homes)
