    I agree Philip. Slug and snail pellets are the only things that really work and starting early helps. I did that this year and to my surprise two hostas that I planted years ago have reappeared. They never saw the light of day for the snails, but your hostas are much better than mine. Is it the neem oil that helps with the glossy look?

    Edit: I just saw your rain explanation on the other thread.

    @Purplerain,..I was away one year when my Delphiniums produced shoots just above the surface,..slugs and snails scoffed them to the extent i lost those plants,..i never let that happen again,..as you said starting early to eliminate is the solution.

    Oh the Neem Oil and the Liquid Soap will add a glossy look to leaves and keep away anything that eats leaves but wont harm butterflies or bees,..sadly the glossy look in the images is due to rain all day yesterday,..my error i should have mentioned that  :),..Philip.
