Thanks. Just so you know, mine looked dead for about 3 weeks and then rapidly started to improve. Still have patches that needs dealing with. Another time. Look forward to seeing your after pic .
Hi everyone! I wanted to update you on my lawn... so after preparing the soil, feeding it lime and fertiliser, i also threw on some grass seeds (only in certain areas to test the result) then added compost as suggested and soil, i aired it and chased off hungry birds (no big thanks to my lazy cats..) and ... incredibly, grass is growing!!! Im so happy, i was almost loosing hope!! What should i do now? Just let it grown naturally or compress the soil to further reinforce the roots? thanks a lot for the help! :-)
Don't compress the ground, just allow the grass to develop naturally. If you weather has been anything like the UK i.e. cold and wet, the grass will have taken a while to take hold. Once we get warmer weather it will grow very quickly.
In the Autumn, use Mo Bacta, which not only feeds the lawn, but th moss starts to digest itself. Look it up, I believe it was developed over there. Not cheap but I use it every year and it makes a great difference to the shaded areas of the lawn
