Using weed suppressing membrane

I am about to use some weed suppressing membrane over quite a large area (paths between raised beds) and I was wondering if there was any benefit in putting down 2 layers?

It would be 2 layers of good quality - I over ordered! And am wondering whether it is worth doubling up or pass it on to someone else?

If I were you I'd put down one layer and keep the rest for repairs/extensions. But then I never really plan far enough ahead (embarrassed emoji)

I too,  over estimated, and bought too much weed membrane. I am using the excess in the bottom of my pots . It allows the water to drain out but keeps the soil in the pots.

But as far as anyone knows it won't do damage putting down 2 layers?

I can't see it causing any problems having 2 layers. Where I have put some down I  had to overlap it and haven't noticed any difference between the single and double layers.

I'd put down two layers, as we have found hedge/tree roots still seem able to get through. Now trying the real McCoy, Terram root barrier under our veg beds as we have ongoing probs with tree roots. It will be interesting to see if this works - it ought to judging by the price!
