Grapevine issue

Hi all. Just wondered if someone could tell me if I’ve killed my very well established grapevine. It has absolutely no shoots at all and I think I may have cut it back too early. It is just looking like dry twiggy wood at the moment. It has been very healthy other years and produced lots of grapes and very leafy but although it’s April there are no signs of growth at all! 😩

    My outdoor vines look the same but they will bud up when they are ready. I am in SE England but 500ft up and fairly rural so can be a bit later than towns north and south of here. The general view is that Spring is a couple of weeks behind this year. If the promised warmer spell comes next week then I expect they will get going again. Patience is a virtue!

    No sign of life on mine yet either ... but there will be ... have faith ...  :)

    If it's in a greenhouse I would expect the buds will be opening by now. If it's outside then wait and see.

    I find my different varieties come out at different times.  Nimrod is my first, and Concord is my last.. with at least three or four weeks between them.

    I planted my first ever grape vine, or Vitis vinifera as I've been learning, in the greenhouse in November (a black hamburgh). I was sure it was dead all through the winter, but over the last week buds appeared and yesterday and today leaves have opened. Hoping for some vertical growth next.

    Wow! Sounds exciting! I have to say I’ve no idea what variety of grape I have as it was well established when I moved in 3 years ago. All I know is it produces white grapes which are full of seeds....it is such a shame as I find it difficult to know what to do with them. They sadly go to waste as no one wants to take all the seeds out - they just want to pop them in their mouths and enjoy! That clearly doesn’t happen!😔
