Plant identification - help!

Hi, I planted an anemone about twelve months ago and can’t remember what it looks like as it develops. This healthy plant is growing where I planted it and it looks suspiciously like some of the weeds I find in my garden. Does anybody know if it is a healthy anemone?!

    I would say poppy, definitely not anemone palmina.
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Poppy! Well I’ll settle for that. No idea where my anemone is but never mind! Thanks.

    Yeah, welsh poppy (Papaver cambricum) by the look of it.  If so, usually yellow flowers but sometimes orange.

    I've got some red ones,  'Frances Perry', they're horrible in themselves but have made an interesting colour mix by hybridising with the yellow

    Ooh, wouldn't mind some seeds of the red ones nut, when the time comes?  I'd like a bit more variation.  I've been pulling up the yellow ones to try and get more orange but it's not working - must be the genetics of this strain.  They grow prolifically here so I just don't uproot those growing where I want them. :)

    I'll try and trap some Bob, or try and remember to mark the red ones when they flower :)
