    I'll take a look, thanks. We certainly have some irises there, but I couldn't tell you what they are! OH is fond of irises. We also have what looks like an Astilbe coming through.

    Are those Gunneras in the background of that picture?

    Indeed so. I suspect the yellow mottlilng is some sort of virus, but they come back year after year and they don't seem to suffer because of it.

    Am also considering Trilliums, but these are quite pricey especially as one needs more than one or two to achieve any impact.

    Darmera peltata would be ally good, they love boggy ground and are very bold, quite colourful and stunning.

    Yes, we've already planted those. There were no flowers this year, but leaves are now coming through.

    We've also planted marsh marigolds, Zantedeschia, Astilbe, Lysimachia, Bugle, the baby Gunnera, the Royal Fern and ... a hosta Big Daddy. Hoping the latter will thrive!

    It's all a bit experimental at the moment. Once we work out what "does", we'll start to fill the bed up.
