I've recently purchased a beautiful Paper Bark Maple and it's been dormant for the last couple of months. Can anyone let me know when to expect to see some buds, I was expecting to see something by now, I just hope it's not dead!
Acer griseum originates from Western China , a different climate to Japan which is more maritime . Leaves normally unfurl in habitat in mid to late-May , when all risk of frost has normally passed .
Rather depends where in UK it is...and what sort of winter /spring it has been. I have pics from Westonbirt The National Arbotetum of the flowers opening on 26th April one spring. Another year leaf buds were just opening on on 15th April. Be patient markos
