Will grape hyacinth, narcissus and hyacinth be happy to be replanted under a decidious tree? They are almost finished flowering in the pots. What summer flowering plants will be happy under the umbrella of a decidious tree? Thanks
I have crocus, grape hyacinth, narcissus, anemone blanda, acidanthera bulbs plus plants like hellebore, ajuga reptens, aquilegia, cyclamen at the base of the huge evergreen Spanish oak tress that line my drive, where they get dappled light. This is their second spring, all doing fine except the acidanthera do better at the sunnier end.

It rather depends on the type of tree and how big the tree is. eg Nothing /hardly anything will grow under Fagus sylvatica...beech trees.
Quite true. Even stinging nettles only grow round the very outer edge of the canopy. Cyclamen will though. Some trees - walnut being the prime example - will suppress other plants growing nearby.
