Can you help ID these two climbers?
Hello. A house near me has a beautifully fragrant clematis up their wall. I'd love to know exactly which it is: it 4 or 5 petal flowers & slender glossy leaves.
I also need something to creep along an unsightly wall which is only 5ft long and 3ft high. Any ideas are welcome, otherwise I spotted this red one below in our neighbourhood but don't know what this is either.
Thanks

2. Looks like the red winter colour of Trachelospermum jasminoides.

I'd like to grow something fragrant and long lasting up the front of our Victorian terrace and around the door. I only need a width of about 70cm though so I guess the Clematis Snowflake would be too vigorous and spreading? Thanks!
SandT, have you considered training a Camellia over your front door? I have seen them trained against walls in gardens, and they look superb all year round, and come spring time, the flowers are just perfect. If you have neutral to acidic soil, Camellia Sasanquas are fragrant and very showy. Plenty to choose from. You could always grow another climber over it in the summer time if you need additional colour over the summer.
I like Jasmines myself and Jasminum Officinale Devon Cream would be a lovely plant to train over your front door. Summery and cottagey. Both prefer a sunny front door. Not ideal for a shady door though.
