How late in the season do you plant sweet pea seeds?

    Up here in Sheffield, a last lot sown in early May would be the latest I have tried.

    I put one lot in Mid March. They are a couple of inches high now.  I intend sowing another lot end of next week. I am hoping to have enough for a wedding mid September.

    When is it safe to put them in the ground? I've got them up to 3"pinched out.I plan to put in a seed next to the plant when they go out.I would love to prolong their flowering,they smell so lovely indoors.
