Yes, the Eranthis usually beat the snowdrops to flower around here - worth keeping an eye on them in late winter so you don't miss the lovely yellow flowers. Yours look very healthy and will disappear completely later in the year but appear again in winter, so remember where they are and don't plant into them by mistake, like I did!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
They are great, a hint that winter might be loosening its grip in the not too distant future.
I'm hoping to have some next year! We tried and tried in our previous garden, on heavy alkaline clay, with no luck. Now we're on a slightly acid soil, so we bought one pot of them and planted them and they were fine - but we wait to see if they come up next year before splashing out on more.
