Pruning advice

I have an eight year old Hypericum Indorum Elite shrub and want to reduce it in size in a front island bed. Can I prune it now and by how much pleas?

    It flowers on new wood, so should be pruned mid / late spring.
    You can be brutal with them, taking up to 50% off.
