What is this?

donutsmrsdonutsmrs Posts: 487
I don't post very often but would anyone be kind enough to tell me what this plant is. It is in the back garden of the house we are buying. It looks so pretty with it tiny flowers hanging down and it has a smell that reminds me of maybe raspberries. The bush doesn't stand very high and it is quite compact. I hope someone can name it. Thank you

Prune it immediately after it’s flowered, then you get lots of flowers next year.

I like the smell ... reminds me of black currants.
I have some in a vase on the dining table at the moment.

I don't like the smell but I like the plant.  I planted a white one last year and it's flowering now.

Thank you everyone for your comments, so kind. Yes I like the smell and it is so pretty. Do the flowers actually turn to currants and can they be eaten? It will definitely be staying in the garden.

I'm afraid you won't get anything to eat from the bush, so enjoy the flowers and scent.
It's a lovely little shrub at this time of year
