Moving Alliums in Spring

TheChunkTheChunk Posts: 25
I am shortly going to be lifting, dividing and moving some of my hardy perennials.

In and amongst them I have some Allium Purple Sensation which are currently about 5 inches tall that I would also like to move. Is it a really bad idea to move them at this time of year?

Thanks,
Alan

You can buy them in the green for planting now so I don’t see why you can’t move them.

I move mine if I have to - and most other things as well. Most plants survive, they do want to grow after all.

I've moved my Allium Christophii without problems - I just made sure I took a big chunk of the earth they were sitting in so they didn't notice ... :)
