sick enormous bay tree

what should I do about my sick tree. All leaves are brown but they looked diseased even before the snow.

    Leave it.
    The new flush of leaves will come through and those damaged leaves will fall off.

    thank you. Before the snow the leaves were curled up with brownish bits and I wondered then if it was sick or had some kind of infestation?

    If the leaves started curling in the summer, and curl downwards, you could have had an infestation of bay leaf sucker.  The recommendation is to pick off curled leaves, if that was your original problem - so if it produces new leaves this year, keep an eye on it.  If you get curling leaves in the summer, inspect their undersides to see if there are white insects feeding on them.
    If the curling happened in winter, it was due to the weather, as Hostafan says.  Lots of evergreens have suffered this year.

    thank you. It is such a large tree it will be hard to pick off the leaves high up. I'll see what happens
