The 2nd one looks really familiar to me, maybe a salvia?

No 1 resembles some sort of Violaceae seedling, a bit purplish from the weather or a trait?

it could be salvia a a amistad. The second darker one could be sedum voodoo.

That may be it then Mary - I've got several Amistads in the garden. I saw one today struggling against the slugs to get its head above the ground
