I have been to the Cardiff one for the last six or seven years - apparently it is small compared to most of the others but I love it. I am not sure if I will be able to go this year, but every time I have been it has been dry, and it was suncream and hat last year!

Like Malvern spring show, the show is great and the location beautiful. Enjoyed Harrogate, Hampton Court was lovely, Chelsea good but a bit pretentious.  Must say I enjoyed Gardeners World Live, went 3 years ago and I'm going back this year.

I go twice a year to the Harrogate flower shows, which are a lot smaller than the main RHS ones, but have their own charm... but not a lot of show gardens.  Tatton Park is lovely, if you're in the North.  I've been to Chelsea twice, and it was definitely worth the effort -  but it's a bit full of non-gardeners called Julian and Cassandra who are just there to drink Pimms and be seen.  Going to try Hampton Court this year.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hampton Court always and every year for me. Never board and just the right tone.

Gardeners world live is good and if going with someone who isn't over enthusiastic about gardening, the food show is very good. There are celeb talks and book signing sessions.

Chatsworth is smaller  and if you get round the show a tour of the house is worth a visit.

I'd agree Tatton Park is lovely as is Southport, both in the North.

I'm going to the Harrogate Spring show for the first time this year it's always nice to try somewhere new . .

@AuntyRach, we are thinking of going to Cardiff for the first time, l hope the weather turns out the same for us, if so !  :)

@AnniD - I am a bit biased, but the grounds of Cardiff Castle are a delight (the blossom should be out) and if you have time you can get a cruise boat or bus to The Bay too. As with most outdoor events, the weather can make or break the experience. If it is rainy, then treat yourself to a lovely meal (spoilt for choice), go to the museum (5 min walk) or just shop (5 min walk).
