To all the above comments , I did NOT say I ingested and believed sensationalist press reports . I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in what or who sucumbs to poisoning . I posted the above link as a matter of interest and purely for amusement ; a rare moment of lightheartedness on my part !!
Paul, I didn't say that either, nor felt it, nor intended to implie it. I appreciated the post because I had, as I had already mentioned, missed all the press stuff when it happened. It is interesting to see how people reacted at the time and what the press made of it.
Also Hampshire Hog, thank you for looking that up. It is useful
- will give my mother a ballenced view with detailed information. It sounds much like I read in a
book about poisonous plants, but good to get a further
reference - my book was a chemist's advisory, but is away with the shepherds who are using it to spot things that the sheep might eat.
In any case, when the famous utillitarian philosopher said that there was "a grain of truth in every argument" he didn't mean it was something tiny, he meant it is that which grows to ballence things out in order to get the measure of the truth. That's what a disscussion forum is for - everybodies experience and knowledge has so far been very useful! "All wise words! Therein lies the garden..." That's my own personal expertise - philosphy of garden - the really, really lazy bit
Just goes to show ; never believe everything you read . Probably misread the posts and took them personally ; have recently been diagnosed as bi-polar with traits of psychopathy (doesn't mean I'm a mass-murderer)(!) ; take some things too seriously and matter of fact . No offence intended to anyone on the forum !
It's very easy to take things personally on a forum, because it feels like a conversation that all the others are having 'with you'. You're not the only one (although sometimes I know it feels like it)
