GW Magazines, old but still good, any takers?

I have 32 Gardeners World magazines to dispose of and I would like to know if anyone would like to have them please. I hope it is OK to post this request on here.

They are May to Dec 1991; Jan to Dec 1992 in a GW folder; Jan to Dec 1993, all in a very good condition.

If you are interested and can visit me to collect them then let me know, on here. I live in the Bristol area.

  • Thanks, but they do not want them in our local charity shops, and I thought that someone would like to have them - before I commit them all to the landfill.

That's a very thoughtful offer Elizabeth :) - unfortunately I live on the opposite side of the country so will not be able to indulge.

If there are no takers on the forum (unfortunately we are spread all over the country - and beyond) maybe you could send an email to a couple of local garden groups - perhaps somebody there would like them. :)

  • Thanks Topbird, I will give that a try, but not sure if there are any near me or even up to 20 miles away, so I will do a search. Cheers :)

I have loads as well, I sent the appropriate month’s mag to a friend of mine.

No, I was thinking of Freegle, the online site which is designed to save things from landfill. People offer, people take, sometimes one object goes through several ownerships.🙂 See here:

Hi pansyface, thanks for your suggestion, which I had not heard about before, so I used the link you gave, signed in and placed my 'give' ad! Cheers! I have put Freegle in my favourites list now, to use them again.

My ad on Gumtree, to give the magazines away, did not get any replies, but I am hoping that this Freegle one will be better.

They should make fascinating reading.  From a time when recycling was virtually unheard of, and "If it moves spray it, and if it doesn't move spray it just be sure" was the order of the day.
