where to buy plant pots

Some of my house plants need repotting and I.m having trouble finding suitable pots. I have a xmas tree and an african violet which needs a shallow pot like an azalea pot apparently and I have a kalonchoe cutting. I don't live near a garden centre and other shops that are meant to sell gardening things have been no use. I want normal plant pots with drainage holes in the bottom. The pot for the christmas tree needs to be at least 25cm diameter. Can't find them anywhere. Is this generally a problem in gardening? I can't find them online either. Does anywhere know somewhere I can get pots online? Do independent garden centres sell them rather than the large chain stores where everything seems to be just decorative?

Any garden centre should have pots, both clay and plastic, in a range of sizes. Failing that, you could buy them from Eb*y or some other such site. .

Although there's more than enough plastic in the world already. First stop might be to find a local Freecycle type group and ask there. Lots of people have them spare in a corner of a shed or garage and might be happy to pass them on to be re-used.

Thanks for your suggestions. I was thinking about trying freecycle. I know what you mean about plastic. I'll also try a good garden centre.

Morrisons also had loads of ceramic pots today when I was in. Cheap as chips - and so was their compost.

Try going to some local nurseries. They usually give them for free or at a very lost price.

Tesco have big clay pots at a fiver. Lidl have large plastic pots and saucer at 2.99.
